Beauaraba Living manages and facilitates meals for the Pittsworth Meals on Wheels committee. Meals are cooked in the kitchens at Beauaraba Living by Cater care and delivered by volunteers daily directly to the homes of customers.
The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Patron of Australian Meals on Wheels, made a very special visit recently, to recognise the 40th anniversary of Meals on Wheel’s operations in Pittsworth. 2016 marked an amazing 40 years of Pittsworth Meals on Wheels making and delivering meals to those in need.
As a community service to people who are frail aged, younger disabled and their carers Pittsworth Meals on Wheels enables people to continue to live comfortably in their own home or while recovering after a stay in hospital or during times of sickness.
Our service provides:
- Main Course, Soup or Salad, Juice and Dessert
- Price per meal (increases subject to inflation):
- HACC subsidised $9.00
- Not subsidised $11.00
In order for Clients to receive meals at the HACC subsidised price: Referral by a Health Professional is a requirement. Pittsworth Meals on Wheels service also offers frozen meals on public holidays and weekend.
